Yak Cheese luring foreigners
The production of cheese with the processing of Yak milk that started from last mid-April has been intensified and the produce is being sent to Kathmandu, said Centre Chief Purna Bahadur Jirel.
Cheese produced in Rasuwa is considered very tasty. Especially foreigners prefer the cheese the most.
As of today the centre has produced 2,300 kgs of cheese and 600 kgs of curd every day and 1,700 kgs of cheese is being sent to Kathmandu, Lainchaur daily.
The period from mid-April to October last is set to be timeframe for the production of cheese, according to Dairy Development Centre.
The income generated from the sale of Yak milk has eased the life sustenance and spending in the education of children, said local milk farmers. RSS
