Women dead after school bus hits micro bus in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Tensions ran high at Budhanilkantha area in the capital after a woman died in a road accident on Friday. The deceased is Rita Ramtel, 32. Ramtel was crushed to death when a bus (Ba 1 Kha 7987) of Bansbari based Chandbag Boarding School returning to school carrying students, collided with a micro bus.

Ramtel died while undergoing treatment at Anmol Hospital, Chapali, said Head Constable at the Mteropolitan Police sector, Budhanilkantha, Alok Karki.

At least 12 persons are injured in the incident. Seriously injured seven-year-old student, Pasang Lama is undergoing treatment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj.

Likewise, some injured are undergoing treatment at Anmol Hospital, Chapali, while four injured returned home after receiving normal treatment.Police have arrested school bus driver Krishna Prasad Shrestha and impounded the bus and the micro bus, added Karki.

Family members and relatives of the deceased have obstructed the vehicular movement at the area demanding compensation to victim’s family. RSS
