Wind mills illuminate life of Dhaubadi locals
KATHMANDU: The generation of electricity by harnessing wind power at local Dhaubadi village has not only illuminated the village but also the faces of the people here.
Generation of electricity through windpower in this area has been possible following a year-long research an trial carried out by Practical Action, Hicodef LFP and other NGOs working in the development of clean energy in the country.
Programme Officer with Hicodef LFP, Shukraraj Ojha said 10 Kilowatts of electricity is generated daily from two windpanes installed at the place.
Fifty-two households in the locality have been benefited by the windpower project.
“People can now work in the evening hours weaving bamboo baskets and other home-based works to supplement their income. The students can study late into the evening,” said Mukti Singh Ale of Dhaubadi-1. RSS
