Wheat production up in Dang

DANG: Dang district has made bumper harvest of wheat this year. The District Agricultural Development Office, Dang said wheat production increased in the district due to the favourable weather.
Wheat production increased 2.32 metric tons per hectare this year. The production per hectare this year is 29,464 metric tons. The crop was cultivated on 12,700 hectares this year.
Crop Development Officer at DADO, Dang, Pawan Giri, said wheat output was high this year due to favourable weather condition and no disease and pest infestation.
The farmers had cultivated improved varieties of seeds as Gautam, NL-296, Bhrikuti and Bijaya this year.RSS
