Vice Prez lauds political consensus
Vice-President Jha also expressed his satisfaction for the progress in peace process and the formation of the national unity government.
Addressing a programme organised on the occasion of 2556th Birth Anniversary of Gautam Buddha at the premises of Swayambhu today, the Vice-President urged one and all to work for peace as the environment conducive was created for promulgating the new constitution.
Vice President Jha said all Nepalis were for living together in a peaceful and harmonious society adding that “Religious harmony is our identity. We all should work to protect this.”
All Nepalis have agreed to the secular state and the new constitution would contribute to give space to all kinds of religions in the country, he added.
Likewise, Rights activist Damannath Dhungana stressed on implementing the commitments in practical life and said that messages of Buddha were relevant even in the ongoing constitution writing process.
Buddhist monk Khempo Sonam Acharya, Chairman of the World Hindu Federation, Damodar Gautam, Chairman of Christian Federation Dr Sundar Thapa, Chairman of Nepal Tamang Ghedung and others urged all to work for maintaining peace in the country. RSS
