Urgency of Samparka Samiti’s General Convention felt in Baltimore
The well-wishers and supporters of Nepali Congress residing in America have stressed the need of the general convention of Nepali Public Relations Committee, commonly known as Nepali Janasamparka Samiti, the sister organization of Nepali Congress, as earliest to unite the cadres of Nepali Congress divided into various factions and groups.
Speaking at a tea reception organized by the Nepali Janasamparka Samiti Merryland Chapter on Sunday to exchange greetings of Tihar festival, they also called Congress men in the America to bury their hatchets and hold the general convention.
Dr Shyam Karki, well-wisher of Nepali Congress suggested the Samiti to take the convention process ahead by giving up the animosity between the congress men.
“The reputation and the image of the Congress men is being tarnished in the America and it’s a great loss to the Nepali Congress so you should work in unison as per the party ideology and objectives,” Dr Kakri told.
Likewise, another well-wisher Dr Bhim Kattel also urged the Samiti to work for resolving the internal disputes by holding the convention.
The members of the Samiti made a commitment to forge environment conducive for the convention of the Central committee.
Outgoing President of Baltimore Chapter and currently the member of Central Preparation Committee for the convention Ram Chandra Adhikari handed over the responsibility to incumbent President Suvash Ghimire. Though Ghimire was elected to the president through the convention on July 6th of 2010, Adhikari was due to hand over the responsibility to Ghimire formally.
Extending his best wishes after handing the responsibility, Adhikari said all the Congress well-wishers should be united to strengthen the network of the Samiti in the US. Saying that the a structure has already been constructed and 7 delegates represents the Convention of party from the Samiti, Central Member Narayan Thapa called for the initiative of Convention Delegates to overcome the current passiveness and confusions of the Samiti.
Similarly, Chitra KC, Jedu Pokhrel, Raj Sanchury, Anup Khanal, Kul Prashad Gurung, Mukunda Dahal and other speakers also underlined the need of unity and end of internal disputes to strengthen Nepali Congress in the US.
