UML supremo promises elections after peace and constitution only
KATHMANDU: Chairman of the CPN-UML, Jhalanath Khanal, has said the first task after the conclusion of peace process and promulgation of new constitution would be to hold the local body election in the country.
The local body, backbone of nation’s development, must be made strong and effective, he said, adding that the election would be prioritized to make the local body effective.
In a telephone conversation with the party representatives from Doti district from his residence, Dallu, Kathmandu, on Sunday, leader Khanal said the constitution writing would accelerate after the conclusion of peace process, according his aide Ram Babu Adhikari.
On the occasion, Seti-Mahakali state committee member of the UCPN-Maoist complained that the high-level commission on restructuring of state did injustice to the far-western region.
Chairman Khanal is to continue telephone conversation with representatives of political parties, intellectuals and civil society from districts till the conclusion of peace process and constitution writing. RSS
