UML Politburo member Jha quits party; Three central members of CPN-Maoist returns to UCPN-Maoist

KATHMANDU: A CPN-UML Politburo member has resigned from all his positions in the party accusing its leaders of indulging in activities that do not befit its name.

Ram Chandra Jha (a Madhesi leader from Dhanusha District) put in his papers on Thursday morning alleging that UML top brass betrayed the people and their aspirations for change.

He sent his resignation letter via fax on Thursday morning to the party headquarters, Balkhu. However the party is yet to make any formal decision on this matter.

According to media reports Jha is likely to join UCPN-Maoist party. A close source of UCPN-Maoist informed that the party is having discussion with Jha regarding the portfolio to be given to Jha. The formal announcement of Jha’s entry into UCPN-Maoist will be made once the issue of portfolio is finalized.

Meanwhile, three central committee members of CPN-Maoist, a break-away faction of UCPN-Maoist returned to the mother party claiming that the party failed to make clear vision after the split. Popular young leader of CPN-Maoist Krishna Dhoj Khadka, Rekha Sharma and Kumar Dahal returned into the mother party.
