UML Lawmaker Shahi resigns
KATHMANDU: Lawmaker of Province Assembly Chandra Bahadur Shahi has resigned from his post for not being appointed as the minister in the Province No. 6.
Elected from Mugu-1 (B) of Province No. 6 from CPN (UML) under the first past the post electoral system, Shahi quit the post on Sunday expressing his reservation over the expansion of cabinet in the province.
Shahi said that he quit the post feeling injustice towards him from the party’s decision to select the leaders as ministers in the Province No. 6.
Lawmaker Shahi confirmed that he is resigning from the party’s responsibility as well. “I have reached Kathmandu to submit my resignation to Party Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli from the post of UML’s Central Advisory Council Member,” he said.
