UML denies to take part in joint discussion called by PM

KATHMANDU: CPN UML boycotted the lead political parties meeting called by the ruling parties to discuss contentious issues.  UML denied to participate in the meeting stating that it was ‘just a formality of the Bhattarai led government to discuss issues related to the budget’ and claimed that the efforts were not sincere, as claimed by the government.

PM Baburam Bhattarai had urged UCPN Maoist, Nepali Congress, CPN UML and Joint Democratic Madheshi Front to start discussion on issues related to budget ordinance, consensus government formation and constitution writing process.

The meeting called for Tuesday morning at Maoist Chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal’s residence was differed till evening today following UML’s denial to take part in it.
