UCPN (Maoist) leader Mahara hails Prez’s move
While the main ruling party UCPN (Maoist) has been condemning the President Dr Rambaran Yadav’s step to call the political parties for consensus government, one of its leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara has welcomed the President’s step. Speaking at a tea reception organized by the Dang-Kathmandu Journalists Society on Saturday in Kathmandu, he said that the President Dr Ram Baran Yadav took such move for creating pressure upon the parties for national consensus.
While his party has been condemning the President’s move, Mahara was of view that the parties should not to be suspicious claiming that former’s move was not intended to grab the power.
He also expressed the confidence that the political deadlock would end soon if a government of national consensus could be formed within November 29 as per the President’s call and a date for election could be announced.
Earlier today, Maoist spokesperson Agni Sapkota has termed the President’s move an ‘unconstitutional’ and ‘illegal’ move by holding a press conference at party office Parisdanda Kathmandu.
