Two dozen Janamukti party cadres arrested in Chitwan
CHITWAN: Police arrested around two dozen cadres of the Rastriya Janamukti Party while they were disrupting the traffic to enforce a market shutdown at Pulchowk, Narayanghat, in Chitwan district.
Police rounded up the central member of the party Padam Gurung and 15 cadres at 5:00 am on Sunday, said Ravi Paudel, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office, Chitwan.
Similarly, police held 10 other persons from various places in the district and kept them at the DPO, Chitwan.
Transport services, industries, and educational institutions in the district are open after the police arrested the leaders and cadres of the Rastriya Janamukti Party, said DAO, Chitwan.
However, only a few vehicles are seen plying. Police reassured the public of their security claiming the security has been tightened in a bid to prevent any untoward incidents in course of the shutdown. RSS
