Two days more to forge consensus

KATHMANDU – The Constitutional Committee (CC) has given two days extra time to political parties to resolve contentions seen int constitution writing process.

With the new deadline, the parties have been given the deadline till Friday and if any issues that they fail to resolve will be tabled in the CA for voting.

The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Constituent Assembly (CA) will have to endorse the CC decision. The earlier extended deadline to forge consensus has expired today.

UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Samyukta Loktantkri Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) had urged the CC today to provide four more days to forge consensus citing need for more discussion on the state restructuring.
