Two arrested in connection with attack on Shreeniwas Acharya

BIRATNAGAR: Police have arrested two suspects in the gunfire attack on Balsanta Shreeniwas Acharya took place here in the wee hours Sunday.
However, identities of the arrested have not been disclosed, Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar BC said.They were taken under control from Biratnagar Metropolis-14. An unidentified group reportedly shot at Acharya at around 1:45 am Sunday as he was exiting from his room for toilet.He sustained bullet injuries at his right arm and is undergoing treatment at the Biratnagar-based Neuro Hospital. He is out of life threatening condition, doctors involved in his treatment said.
Police found pamphlets bearing the name of Mangol Organisation from the incident site. The 50-year priest of Chakarghati-based Laxmi Venkates Temple was here to facilitate the Shrimad Bhagawat Purana, a religious event, to be started today itself at the local Ramjanaki Temple. Province 1 Minister for Internal Affairs, Hikmat Karki, visited him at the Neuro Hospital earlier today.
