Two abductors killed in police firing
Two people were killed on the spot in a clash that took place here in course of rescuing a child from kidnappers’ captivity.
In the clash taken place between the police and the alleged kidnappers, some rounds of gunfire were exchanged from both sides, the Parsa police said. The deceased are alleged kidnappers Sanjay Giri and Bindeshwor Patel of Bhediyari VDC-9.
Two police personnel have also been injured in the clash. They are Surya Bahadur Thapa and Pod Bahadur Tamang and are undergoing treatment at the local health post, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajendra Bista. Their condition is said to be normal.
However, the police led by Inspector Manohar Bhatta was able to free eight-year-old Slok Agrawal of local Aadarsha Nagar-8 safely from captivity of kidnappers. The boy was abducted on January 26 and was found kept in captivity at Panna Lal Sahani’s house at the village.
According to DSP Bista, kidnappers fired at the police squad immediately after they saw the police who reached the site for rescuing the child. In retaliation, police opened 15 rounds of fire.
Rambha Devi Giri, Ajay Giri, Kunal Agrawal, Rajanbabu Baniya, Pannalal Sahani and Sikendra Yadav have been arrested on the charge of their involvement in the abduction.
