Tharus bring Western Terai to grinding halt

KATHMANDU:Some districts of the Mid and Far Western terai have been closed since Wednesday morning The Matawa, Badghar and Bhalmansa Federation, an organization working for political rights of the Tharu Communities, called on the strike demanding recognition of the those communities and representation of their community in the local bodies.
Transportation, education institution, industries and market places remained close since morning in Banke, Bardiya, Dang, Kailali and Kanchanpur due to the bandh since early this morning.
Many passengers traveling across and through the districts have been stranded since morning.
