Tamrat claims ‘integration’ is the main challenge

KATHMANDU- UN SG’s special representative and Chief of Asia and Pacific Division UN’s Department of Political Affairs (DPA) Tamrat Samuel claimed that integrating the Maoist combatants into the national army is the major challenge in Nepal’s peace process.
Tamrat expressed such concerns while holding consultation with PLA Chief and Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun in the capital today.
While congratulating Pun on successfully bidding farewell to the combatants who opted out of the army life he urged Pun for completing the remaining task of the peace process.
Responding to Tamrat’s concern, Minister Pun informed that the tasks related to peace process will start within a week.
