Sushil trashes Prachanda’s pleas

KATHMANDU: The meeting held between senior leaders of UCPN (Maoist) and Nepali Congress (NC) remained inconclusive after NC denied to inch off from the seven point understanding.

The meeting was participated by Maoist Chair Puspa Kamal Dahal aka Prachanda and NC President Sushil Koirala along with other senior leaders from the party.

Citing internal differences within the party as the major obstacle in concluding the peace process, Prachanda had requested Sushil for being flexible on the implementation of the seven point agreement.

Sources claimed that Prachanda had assured to conclude the peace process provided that NC loosens its stance on implementing the seven point deal completely.

However, Sushil backfired and denied to accept any request to amend the seven point agreement for concluding the peace process.

He accused the Maoists of entering agreement but always dillydallying its implementation. Both parties have agreed to intensify inter and intraparty discussion on the issue and meet in the three party meeting.
