Supreme court judge shot in broad day light

KATHMANDU: Supreme Court Justice Ran Bahadur Bam passed way this morning while undergoing treatment after he was shot at Sankhamul of Kathmandu.

Justice Bam was severely injured in a gun attack by unknown gunmen this morning and was undergoing treatment at Norvic Hospital of Kathmandu.

This was informed to journalists at the hospital premises by Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and chairman of the Administrative Court Kashi Raj Dahal.

The prime minister had reached the hospital a little while ago to visit Bam at the hospital after he was injured.  The prime minister has said he was saddened by the incident and that it was an attack on the state itself.

He said the guilty will be arrested and maximum possible punishment will be given to the culprits, and assured security for high ranking officials of all sectors.

A Security Committee meeting has been called after a little while to review the latest security situation.

According to Inspector General of Police Rabindra Pratap Shah, two unknown gunmen had fired six rounds of bullets on Justice Bam at Sankhamul in Kathmandu. RSS
