SLC-2012 results out; 47.16 percent cross the “iron gate”

KATHMANDU: A total of 208187 students who appeared in this year’s School Leaving Certificate examinations have passed through “iron gate.”

Under the regular category 47.16% have made it through the SLC exams, of which 51.81% are boys while 42.26% are girls. Of those who passed under regular category, 17,760 have achieved distinction, 77,257 with first division, 93,830 with second division and 8,791 with pass division,

Under the exempted category, 15.10% boys and 12.63% girls have passed the SLC exams, of which 126 students have passed in first division, 7,595 with second division and 2,828 with pass division.

Of those who sat for this year’s SLC exam, 461 from the regular category while 49 from  the exempted category had been expelled.
