Singh says environment getting favorable for timely constitution
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Prakash Man Singh has said environment is gradually getting favorable to promulgate new constitution in the stated time of the Constituent Assembly (CA).
Addressing the blood donation programme organized here today by the NC-aligned Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) to mark its 42nd founding day, leader Singh expressed his confidence that the constitution would be promulgated on time with the peace process taken ahead to a positive note and discussions among the parties coming to a consensus point.
He urged the NSU to engage its efforts proactively towards protecting rights of all students and youths as the organization was established to wage struggle against autocracy.
Constituent Assembly (CA) member Ram Krishna Chitrakar said there seems good indication towards accomplishing the peace and constitution-making processes after the Maoist’s weapons and cantonments came under the purview of the government.
NSU central member Om Gurung informed that the NSU is planning to launch various pressure-mounting programme within May 27 as lasting peace could not be established in the country without promulgating new constitution.
