Sarbendra Khanal appointed new IGP
KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar this evening promoted DIG Sarbendra Khanal to the post of Inspector General of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force AIG Sailendra Khanal to the post of IGP of APF.
Minister of State for the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Gokul Banskota shared that the decision would be effective from Thursday.
The chiefs of both security forces, Prakash Aryal and Singh Bahadur Shrestha, are retiring tomorrow, owing to the 30-years service term clause.
