Ruling Madhesi Alliance echoes PM’s conditions

As PM Dr Baburam Bhattarai has put forth the chorus of conditions to step down from the government, Unified Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF), the ruling alliance of Madhes based political parties, has backed the Prime Minister’s conditions for the change of guard.
A meeting of the UDMF on Wednesday decided to end the deadlock in a package deal by forging consensus on contentious issues after agreeing on holding election by May and taking ownership over the topics settled by the Constituent Assembly.
General Secretary of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Democratic, Jitendra Dev said that the meeting decided to reach a package deal for ending the current political logjam. He added that issues like the constituent assembly, amendment of the laws required for going for election and the leadership of the consensus government would be included in the package deal.
The UDMF is scheduled to hold its next meeting today again.
