RSS scribe Silwal’s house vandalized, demand for journalist protection

KATHMANDU: Press Chautari Nepal has said that its serious attention has been drawn over the house vandalism of Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) reporter Prakash Silwal in Gongobu Baniyatar. An unidentified group of four/five persons vandalized the house of journalist Silwal on Friday evening.

Issuing a press statement today, the Press Chautari has asked for security of Silwal family adding that attack on journalists one after another was not pardonable at any cost.

The group had reportedly come to the house looking for journalist Silwal, and left with a threatening ‘will see him’ after not finding him inside his house. As they left the house, they also pelted stones on the window by bringing down the window panes.

Journalist Silwal’s wife was at home when the incident took place. Meanwhile, police have begun investigation into the incident.

Similarly, different organizations active at RSS have also condemned the incident by issuing separate press statements and demanded to book the guilty as soon as possible.

Silwal is also the chairman of Press Chautari, Nepal, RSS branch. RSS
