RPP Nepal starts campaign for restoring Nepal as Hindu State
KATHMANDU: As the country is moving towards holding the new election for the constituent assembly to draft the new constitution, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal has begun a signature campaign with the objective of reinstating Nepal as the Hindu State.
Chairperson of the party, Kamal Thapa, initiated the campaign amid a function organized at the Basantpur Durbar Square in the Capital.
The RPP-N campaign meant to reinstate the Hindu state will run till April 28, according to the information shared at the program.
Earlier in the day, the party organized a procession for the cause. The procession passed through major thoroughfares, including Maitighar, Tripureshwor, Shahid Gate and New Road before converging into a mass meeting at Basantpur.
The first meeting of the Constituent Assembly had declared Nepal a secular state. RPP Nepal has been protesting against the decision since the decision was made. RPP Nepal has also been protesting against the decision of removing monarchy in the country and has been advocating for constitutional monarchy.
