KATHMANDU: As the country is moving towards holding the new election for the constituent assembly to draft the new constitution, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal has begun a signature campaign with the objective of reinstating Nepal as the Hindu State.

Chairperson of the party, Kamal Thapa, initiated the campaign amid a function organized at the Basantpur Durbar Square in the Capital.

The RPP-N campaign meant to reinstate the Hindu state will run till April 28, according to the information shared at the program.

Earlier in the day, the party organized a procession for the cause. The procession passed through major thoroughfares, including Maitighar, Tripureshwor, Shahid Gate and New Road before converging into a mass meeting at Basantpur.

The first meeting of the Constituent Assembly had declared Nepal a secular state. RPP Nepal has been protesting against the decision since the decision was made.
