Rifts resurface again in NSU, Deuba favorites announce separate convention

KATHMANDU: Rifts within members of Nepali Congress aligned Nepal Student Union (NSU) has resurfaced and come to the fore after leaders aligned with Sher Bahadur Deuba announced separate plans for holding general convention.

The faction, headed by Deep Jung Basnet has announced plans to hold general convention on December 31, January 1 and 2 in Birgunj in todays meeting accusing the institutional faction of reducing their representation in the organizing committee.

The institutional faction had earlier announced plans to hold the convention on January 9, 10, and 11. However NSU president Ranjit Karna said that he was not aware of such plans and announcement and said that the issue will discussed in the next meeting slated later today.
