Rauniyar’s Congressional bid dashed off

NEW YORK/N24: Nepali origin American Darshan Rauniyar’s struggle for being congressman has been dashed off in the very first round of election on Tuesday.

Rauniyar was vying for the post as a Democratic candidate from the first district of Washington.

During the preliminary rounds of election held for finalising contenders for the Congressional sit, Darshan lost his bid to another fellow democrat Suzan DelBene

Secretary of Washington State informed that the Rauniyar had received 2.31 percentage of the total votes casted.

Republican candidate John Coaster received highest 47.13 percentage of votes and Susan had received 23.24 percentage of the votes.

In the preliminary round, five democrats including Rauniyar one each from Republican party and independent candidate had contended for the final elections.

Of the four lakhs and 25 thousand votes, 45 thousand had casted vote in the preliminary round.
