Rastriya Janamorcha for removing State structures
KATHMANDU:- The Rastriya Janamorcha party has registered a private bill for amendment to the Constitution of Nepal. Vice-chair of the Party and MP Durga Poudel registered the bill calling for dissolution of the State structures and its related schedule from the Constitution. Party Chair Chitra Bahadur KC were present on the occasion, as the bill was registered at the Parliament Secretariat.
“The local level should be strengthened instead, the state structures are not necessary, MP Poudel said while pointing out the need for decentralized based unitary system of governance in the country. She also made it clear that the party would vote for the Constitution amendment to change the national seal of the country with the new map including Kalapani, Lipulek and Limpiyadhura.
MP Poudel said the party decided to register the constitution amendment bill, based on its long-standing position in regards to federalism, as some parties had registered constitution amendment proposals on anti-nation issues like citizenship, representation and language.
Prior to this, Samajbadi Party and Rastriya Janata Party had registered a private bill for amendment to the Constitution. Some Nepali Congress MPs also have registered a Constitution amendment bill.
