Prez urges Khanal to work for consensus

KATHMANDU: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has called on political parties to forge consensus at any cost to end ongoing political turmoil.

The President urged CPN UML Chairman Jhalnath Khanal to take initiation for creating political consensus during a meeting between the duo at the President’s place.

Responding to media persons after the meeting, Khanal said that the President had stressed on the need to stress consensus under the capacity of nation’s guardian.

In response to the President’s urge, Khanal ruled out the possibility of holding CA elections announced by the government unilaterally and stressed on the need to move ahead in consensus.

While informing the President that his party was aligning with other parties, he said that they would topple the government if PM Bhattarai did step aside for political consensus.
