Prez grants five more days as a seventh deadline

KATHMANDU:
President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has extended the deadline for five days to recommend the Prime Minister of national consensus.
According to the new deadline served by the President Dr Yadav, parties have to forge national consensus by January 4.
Earlier today, leaders of the four major political forces- UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN (UML) and United Madhesi Democratic Front (UDMT)- have requested the head of the state to extend the deadline in two phase for 10 days. During the meeting held with the President Dr Yadav this morning, the leaders claimed that they would strike a deal within five days of first phase deadline and implement that deal within five days of next phase deadline.
