Press Council urges all to end piracy in news

KATHMANDU: Press Council Nepal has urged the media not to copy the content of news without permission from the sources and verifying the facts.
The Council has stated that the activities of plagiarism and piracy in news were reported by various media’s including the national news agency (Rastriya Samachar Samiti).
It may be noted that some media houses have circulated notices urging the concerned not to copy their news, after being fed up with the piracies of their news.
PCN information officer Deepak Khanal shared that such act of copying the news without permission was against the Journalists code of conduct 2073. He added that most of the online portals have been charged of piracy in news. RSS
