President Yadav holds discussion with Army Chief, Maoist chairperson
KATHMANDU: At a time when the major four political parties are finalizing the deal to form the Chief Justice Khila Raj Regmi led election government, President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has held discussion with the Chief of Army Staff of Nepal Army Gaurav Shumsher Rana and chairperson of UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Sunday,
According to media reports, the meeting between the President and CoAS Rana revolved around preparations to mark Nepal Army’s anniversary, which this year falls on March 10. During the meeting, the duo also discussed the current political situation of the country
Similarly President Dr. Yadav and UCPN-Maoist Chairperson Dahal discussed about recent political developments and the consensus effort by the political parties.
Spokesperson of UCPN-Maoist Agni Sapkota informed that Dahal informed the President about ongoing efforts of political parties to find consensus on some issues for the formation of CJ led government.
Sapkota also informed that the political parties are trying to reach a consensus to form the chief justice-led government before the Supreme Court verdict on March 7. The apex court will issue the verdict on the case filed against the CJ-led government on March 7.
