President says bigwigs to work in consensus

KATHMANDU: Top leaders of the three major political parties held consultations with the President at the Rashtrapati Bhawan, this morning. The discussions were centred on constitutional issues, it is learnt.
In the meeting, President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav stressed on consensus among the major parties on issues of the constitution, drawing the leaders’ attention towards the constitution becoming not possible without consensus, CPN (UML) president Jhalanath Khanal said.

Khanal said that the President suggested to the parties to put in extra efforts for forging consensus on settling contentious issues of constitution as time was fast running out.
UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and vice-chairman and Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala and UML president Khanal and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal were present in the meeting with the President. RSS
