Pre-monsoon impact: thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds forecast for next three days
KATHMANDU:- Possibility of rain across the country for the next three days is high due to influence of pre-monsoon.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there is generally cloudy in the eastern and central hilly regions along with partly cloudy in the western region and mainly fair in the rest of the country today.
Similarly, thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds has been predicted at some places of the eastern and central hilly regions at a few places of the western hilly region towards afternoon, the Division said in its weather forecast.
Tonight, there will be generally cloudy in the eastern and central belts and partly cloudy in the rest of the country. Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds is likely to occur at some places of the eastern and central belts and at one or two places of the western regions.
According to meteorologist Raju Pradhannga, rain accompanied with lightning and gusty winds is possible across the country for the next three days as pre-monsoon remains active at the moments. Sunshine at daytime and brief rain accompanied by winds and lightning afternoon and late afternoon is the characteristic of pre-monsoon time.
The pre-monsoon runs from March to May and Nepal is feeling its feature now, as he said.
Though the current pace of rain and state of sky seems the arrival of monsoon, it is the pre-monsoon phenomenon, according to meteorologist Pradhananga.
Tentatively, monsoon starts in Nepal from June 10 and it means 13 more days are left to see us the arrival of monsoon.
On Thursday, thundershower accompanied with winds is likely to occur at few places of western region and one or two parts of the central and eastern hilly regions. On Friday, there will be generally cloudy in the hilly parts of the country and will be partially cloudy in the rest of the country while rain along with thundershower and gusty winds has been forecast at some places of eastern and western parts.
The Division’s latest updates put the Kathmandu Valley’s minimum temperature for today at 15.3 degree Celsius while the maximum temperature was measured at 29.3 degree Celsius. Today, across the nation, Jumla reported the lowest 7.4 degree Celsius followed by the highest 41.3 degree Celsius in Nepalgunj.
