Prachanda urges Indian envoy to increase aid

KATHMANDU: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Jayanta Prasad called on UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal today. During the meeting that took place at Dahal’s residence at Lazimpat in the capital, matters relating to the country’s contemporary political issues and bilateral interests were discussed.

On the occasion, Ambassador Jayanta Prasad inquired about the latest political developments in Nepal and the budget for the fiscal year 2069- 70 BS (2012-013), according to Dahal’s aide Shiva Khakurel.

In response, the Maoist Chairman said that talks and discussions were going on among the political parties to end the current political crisis.

He assured Ambassador Jayanta Prasad that the new budget would be brought on the basis of political consensus and added that an all-party meeting was already held to that end.

Similarly, Mr Dahal urged the Indian Ambassador to increase the Indian assistance for the development of Nepal, said Khakurel. RSS
