KATHMANDU: UCPN Maoist Chairman Prachanda has called on his dissident deputy for serious talks over party unity.  Sources near to Prachanda said that, the supremo telephoned Baidya and asked him to come for talks by withdrawing the proposed national level gathering of party cadres.

It has been known that Prachanda elaborated the impact of party split on the general public and national politics and have tried to explain that splitting the party at the present juncture would seriously jeopardize public expectations from the Maoists.

In response, Baidya has assured that he will hold discussions with his aides and reach out to him on the proposal at a later time.

However, he has stressed that his faction is also not in the mood to split the party and does not harbor any greed for posts.
