Prachanda, PM Bhattarai meet Koirala separately

As the President’s call extended deadline for formation of national consensus government, the leaders of major political parties have upped the political parleys to forge much hyped national consensus on the disputed issues.
As part of the parleys, UCPN (Maoist) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala had a meeting this morning. During the meeting, it is learnt that Prachanda requested Koirala for giving the national consensus shape to the incumbent Dr Baburam Bhattarai led government. However, Koirala flatly rejected the request of Prachanda.
“We are striving for consensus, discussions are on but a way out has not yet emerged from these,” Prachanda said emerging out from the meeting.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has also held separate meeting with Congress President Sushil Koirala at latter’s residence Maharajgunj on Monday. Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai sought Koirala’s help in filling the vacant posts of the constitutional bodies. He also assured Koirala that he is ready to quit if political parties forges consensus upon a common candidate for the Prime Minister.
