(VOA): The top U.S. diplomat who held face-to-face talks with North Korea's Kim Jong Un has assured lawmakers the U.S. will negotiate only a strong denuclearization deal with Pyongyang. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo testified on Capitol Hill Wednesday ahead of an expected June 12 summit in Singapore between President Donald Trump and North Korea's reclusive leader, Kim Jong Un.
