Police, students clash in Siraha

LAHAN: Four police personnel and three students were injured in a clash between the local residents, students, and police in Bastipur Chowk of Badaharamal VDC-5 of Siraha district, this morning.

Subhash Mahato, Sujit Paswan and another student were injured when the police interfered in the students’ demonstration.

Four police personnel including Police Inspector Raj Kumar Karki of Mirchaiya Area Police Office were also injured in the clash, said Superintendent of Police Rajeshlal Karn.

The clash occurred after a local Ram Rekhani Devi re-claimed the three bighas of land that was donated by her husband the late Ramchalitar Saha to the Janasewa Higher Secondary School, Karjanha, filing a case at the court.

The clash ensued after the police arrested some eight guardians including school principal who had gone to the District Court as witness in the case. RSS
