Police opens fire on anti-loadshedding protestors in Pyuthan

One person has been seriously injured when the Police opened the to disperse the anti-loadshedding protestors  in Jhimruk Hydro Power Project based in Darimchaur of the district today.  The injured has been identified as Santosh Budha of Nayagaun, Pyuthan. Similarly, a dozen police personnel and protesters were also injured in the clashes after former used the force to bring the situation under control.
Police has intervened the protestors after the irate protestors attempted to set fire in the project office. Following the clash between the police and protestors, the situation of the project site has remained tensed thorough out the day.
The locals of Pyuthan and nearby district Rolpa met the police firing when they were demonstrating at the project building as part of the protest against the load shedding imposed by the government. The locals claimed that the government and the project breached the agreement struck last year of not cutting the power supply. However, Butwal Power Company, which looks after the project, said that it was government decision of power cut.
