The price of yarsagumba has increased twenty-fold in just a few years, to the point that it is now worth nearly its weight in gold, retailing for $1250 an ounce in Hong Kong for premium grade. Yarsagumba grows in the high Himalayas, just below the snowline, and can only be collected for a few weeks in the summer. Bagarchap, Manang, Nepal.
