Police arrest 26 muslim leaders, cadres
KATHMANDU: Police have taken 26 people including leaders of the Muslim Community, who staged sit-in demanding to include their demands in the new constitution in front of the District Administration Office, Babarmahal, under control, today.
Police have taken leaders of the Muslim Community including Sadrul Miya Ansari, Mohammad Rijwan Ansari, among others under control while they were organizing sit-in protest and going to submit a memorandum to the government through the Chief District Officer.
According to Chief of the Publicity Department at National Muslim Struggle Alliance, Junaid Ansari, police interference to the peaceful sit-in protest while were staging the sit-in demanding to ensure the Muslim people’s rights in the new constitution was a misbehave to them.
Police said they were compelled to arrest the Muslim activists as they were staging the sit-in protest in the prohibited area. The arrestees will be released soon, said police.RSS
