Khanal says budget possible in consensus and consensus through PM’s resignation

CPN UML Chairman Jhalnath KhanalKATHMANDU: CPN (UML) Chairman Jhalanath Khanal has said that the complete budget could not be brought without the political consensus.

During his meeting with a delegation of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) at his residence at Dallu today, leader Khanal stressed that Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai should immediately resign from the post so as to pave the way for forging national consensus.

Accusing PM Dr Bhattarai of causing obstructions in forging the national consensus, the UML Chairman claimed that a way out to the current political and constitutional crisis was not possible until and unless the PM gave up his ‘self-centered’ mentality and ‘stances’.

The delegation urged former PM Khanal to be serious towards forging consensus and intensify parleys to that end so as to bring the complete budget in time.

Talking to media persons following the meeting, FNCCI President said the budget announced without consensus among all the parties could not be implemented. He underlined the need of the complete budget based on national consensus.

The delegation led by FNCCI President Suraj Baidya comprised Senior Vice President Bhaskar Raj Rajkarnikar, Vice President Pradeep Jung Pandey and former President Chandi Prasad Dhakal, among others.  RSS
