PM obstructing national consensus formation: Nepal
Speaking at a programme following the foundation stone laying ceremony for a building of the Pushpalal Park, and Pushpa Sarjak Ashram (shelter) at Kirtipur Municipality-8 today, leader Nepal underlined the need of materializing the dreams of Pushpalal, the founder of the Nepali communist movement, for prosperous Nepal with social justice.
Nepal attended the programme in the capacity of the Chairman of Pushpalal Memorial Foundation.
Political changes in the country was possible due to the campaign launched by Pushpalal for making the Nepali people sovereign, he said, adding that the decision to establish the Ashram was to recognize the contribution of Pushpalal in bringing positive changes in the Nepali society.
Accusing Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai of causing obstructions in forging national consensus, the UML leader urged the Prime Minister to immediately resign from the post to pave way for national consensus.
He further refuted the statement by former King Gyanendra Shah that an agreement had been reached among the then seven parties to continue with monarchy. The former king’s statement is totally wrong, he said.
According to Foundation Secretary Gangalal Tuladhar, the three-storey home which is expected to be completed within in a year would have 24 rooms.
The construction cost is estimated to stand at Rs. 15 million.
Meanwhile, also speaking on the occasion, Ananda Dev Bhatta who was honoured with the Pushpalal National Award (literature) yesterday announced to donate Rs. 50,000 for a revolving fund on his behalf to the Foundation to run creative programmes. RSS
