PM condemns attack on Press

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has condemned attacks on press by activists affiliated to Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN).

Cadres of NEFIN have vandalized vehicles of press while enforcing the banda in the capital on Sunday. It called the band demanding ethnic based federalism.

In his telephonic conversation with the Chairman of Federation of Nepalese Journalists, Shiv Gaunle, the PM condemned attack and promised security to press personals.

The PM has also assured to compensate the loss to the press personals made by the attack.

Banda enforcers have vandalized two vehicles of Kantipur publication, motorcycles of Himalayan and Aventues Television scribes and two scribes of the Kathmandu Post in the capital.
