Plans to handover land ownership to community in offing

KATHMANDU: The residence of minority and excluded Badi community people in Rukum district is to be managed well.

A joint meeting of political parties, administration and District Development Committee has decided to provide with land ownership certificates to the landless squatters in a bid to ensure their residential facility.

A five-member taskforce has been formed under the premiership of Dalit Group Uplift Coordination Committee Vice-chair Upendra Lal Kami to arrange land for the landless squatters.

The taskforce will identify land with ownership certificate for the Badi community in Bijayaswori, Chhiwang, Peepal and Pokhara VDC.

There are more than 100 Badi households in Rukum district. RSS
