Passanger bus plunges into river in Western Nepal, 36 killed, scores missing
KATHMANDU: At least 36 passengers died when a bus carrying pilgrims skidded off the road in plunged in Gandak Nahar at Triveni of Nawalparasi district in early afternoon on Sunday.
The bus was heading for Phulampuri of India from Triveni of Susta VDC of the district. Preliminary reports confirmed that the bus was carrying 120 passengers.
Media reports claimed that the accident occurred due to drunk driver, who failed to keep the bus on the road.
Meanwhile, Nepali Police, Nepal Army personnel have reached the accident site for rescuing.
