Party unification by mid April: PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli today said the unification of the UML and CPN (Maoist Centre) could take place by mid April.
“The party unification means as per the need of the hour and aspirations of the people, and it could take place even before April 22 when Nepal Communist Party was established despite suggestions for the same to occur on the day,” he said.
The PM was speaking at a tea reception organised at Prime Minister residence in Baluwatar for the parliamentary and provincial members who supported the incumbent government in the recently held presidential election and gave their vote of confidence to PM Oli.
“The incumbent government is capable enough to promote and establish national unity, peace, stability, prosperity and carry out development activities,” he said.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister thanked the House of Representatives members who gave their votes of confidence to him to secure his win with a three-fourth majority on last Sunday.
He took the time to express his concern over dispute surfaced in judiciary.
“Presently, the judiciary is boiling,” he said, adding that, ” Those in need of justice are helpless, and it is matter of grave concern that the issues about date of birth and academic certificates of the person holding the responsible post in judiciary have been dragged to controversy.”
On a different note, he said the government was ever ready to amend the constitution as per the need of the hour and interests and aspirations of the people and nation.
Also on the occasion, CPN (Maoist Centre) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal vowed to take the country towards the path of development and prosperity thorough united efforts after institutionalising the changes in the country.
Federal Socialist Forum Nepal chair Upendra Yadav, Rastriya Janata Party Nepal presidium chair Mahantha Thakur and federal parliament and State Assembly members supporting the government were present in the event.
