One person injured during bomb explosion in Kavre

KATHMANDU: A person has been injured after a bomb went off at Bhimkhori VDC-5, Mamdi Bazaar, in Kavre district this afternoon.

Police informed that Muluk Singh Lama (45), who is a carpenter by profession, injured in the incident.

A local farmer Nir Bahadur Rayamajhi and his wife brought the bomb home from their farm assuming it to be a potato. The explosive went off when they handed it over to Lama.

However the Rayamajhi couple are safe. Injured Lama has been referred to the Dhulikhel Hospital for treatment.

Police said further investigation about the incident is ongoing. A less known CPN-Maoist (Revolutionary) planted bombs in four major cities Biratnagar, Butwal and Nepalgunj and Dhangadi yesterday. However security forces diffused all the bombs. It is not clear whether the same group detonated the bomb in Kavre or not.
