OFBJP-LA organized Meet and Greet with Shri Raman Malik and discussed New India movement
Vijay Patil, Los Angeles: — Los Angeles chapter of Overseas Friends of BJP, USA, welcomed Honorable Shri Raman Malik, Spokeperson, Bharatiya Janata Party, Haryana, India.
The public event was organized at Tandoor Cuisine of India, Orange, California on Monday, May 28th. The event was attended by Senior Leaders of esteemed organizations including VHP, HSS, American Hindu Foundation, ICS, UFICA, and others.
The Meet and Greet started at 1 pm where local community leaders and OFBJP members had the opportunity to have lunch with Raman ji and discuss their issues in-person. P K Nayak, the Convener of OFBJP California introduced the key businessmen and leaders to Shri Raman ji.
Vijay Patil, General Secretary of OFBJP-Los Angeles chapter started the formal event by wishing everyone a happy Memorial Day. He welcomed the audience and thanked everyone for making it to the event on a short notice. All attendees then had a chance to introduce themselves one by one to Shri Raman ji.
Dr. Surendra Sharma provided brief introduction of Shri Raman Malik ji and requested him to address the audience.
Shri Raman Malik started by thanking the audience for maintaining the respect and connection to India and supporting the developments in India as an NRI’s. He highlighted his personal interactions with Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi and described him as a humble “Pradhan Sewak”.
Shri Malik ji then spent close to an hour to explain the rational, progress, and benefits of many initiatives that are undertaken by BJP government — Swatchh Bharat, Corruption eradication, Demonetization, Ujwala, Real Estate reforms, International Support and record breaking pace of Infrastructure developed. On Women Empowerment, he described the key role that women are playing in NDA administration. He summarized the efforts of BJP government as “Mulabhut Chhote Chhote Parivartan!”, a process that was later described by the organizers as “Fundamental Transformation”.
Next In the event, NRI’s who made USA their home 30-40 years ago expressed their views on “New India”. Most of them pointed out to the transformational changes that India is undergoing and suggested that their beloved country, India, will be the India of their dreams very soon. Community leaders and OFBP members who expressed their views included Ramjibhai Patel, Dr. Rangesh Gadasalli, Ms. Vasundhara Pawar, Ashok Patnaik, Amrit Bhandari, Kamleah Chouhan, and Manmohan Chopra.
This was followed by a long and detailed question and answer season. The audience questions ranged from personal age-old investment challenges of some attendees to the role NRI’s can play in 2019 elections.
Jitubhai Patel offered vote of thanks and concluded the event at 3 pm.
